Everybody leans on something. To imply that non-religious people don’t need a crutch is very misleading. Money, power, sex, drugs, alcohol, other people, and material possessions are just a few examples of crutches people commonly rely on. Even atheism can become a crutch if it becomes the rationale for the addiction to an immoral lifestyle. Christians are not weak for relying on God. They are stronger for relying on something other than just themselves. Christianity ultimately provides something no flimsy substitutes really can: inner peace, forgiveness and spiritual fulfillment.
True religion is not just in the creed you profess, but its also in the life you lead.
