Suppose one morning you woke up living in Vienna circa 1905 next door to a mediocre watercolorist named Adolf Hitler. Knowing what you know now, what would you do? Would you befriend him and try to make him see the error of his ways. Would you kill him to prevent the future death of millions? Clearly, you were put here in this time and place for a reason, right? Would you just talk badly about him behind his back, maybe occasionally posting a little derogatory graffiti on a public wall somewhere? Wouldn’t this be cowardice of the worst kind?
Where am I going with this? Well, it seems that every administration there are some crackpots that say President Fillintheblank is the Antichrist. Okay, say they really believe this. Why don’t they do something about it? Don’t they believe that God put them in this time and place for a reason? If He has truly revealed to them the identity of the Antichrist doesn’t He want them to do something about it? Something, that is, other than complain to their neighbor at the hardware store or repost a particularly scathing meme on Facebook. Do they think this will earn them some “attaboys” from the Big Fellow Upstairs? Of course not.
Either they don’t really believe their own lies or they are craven cowards. It simply has to be one or the other. For those who really *do* believe this nonsense, all I have to say is thank God for cowardice.
